Asian Studies Society (ASSOC) president Johannes Adrian de Guia was elected as the new speaker of the Faculty of Arts and Letters (AB) - Board of Majors.
De Guia from 4ASN1 replaced former University of Santo Tomas (UST) Behavioral Science Society president Timothy Leo Coronel who resigned from his posts as home society president and the Board's speaker.
In a memorandum released by the UST Behavioral Science Society dated Dec. 6, Coronel mentioned his intention to "focus on personal matters, mental health, and academic responsibilities as a graduating student."
Approved by the executive heads of AB's 13 home societies, de Guia’s appointment is in line with Article VII Section 2 of the UST Artlets Student Council's Constitution which states that:
“The [Board of Majors] shall elect from among themselves, a Speaker, who shall call and preside over all its meetings and prepare the agenda for the same."
De Guia is expected to be the speaker of the AB - Board of Majors for the remaining term of Academic Year 2022-2023.
